Overview
RenderDock is a local application for reviewing long videos, rendering short clips, and publishing selected clips to a user's own YouTube channel. This Privacy Policy explains how RenderDock accesses, uses, stores, and shares information when users connect a Google or YouTube account.
Google and YouTube Data RenderDock Accesses
When a user grants access through Google OAuth, RenderDock may access:
- Google account identifiers needed for the OAuth flow, including basic profile information and email address.
- YouTube channel metadata such as channel ID, channel title, handle, description, thumbnails, public statistics, status, branding metadata, and uploads playlist ID.
- YouTube video metadata for the connected channel, including video IDs, titles, descriptions, tags, categories, thumbnails, visibility status, publish time, and duration.
- Upload and metadata permissions needed to publish user-selected clips and update user-selected video metadata or privacy settings.

How RenderDock Uses This Data
RenderDock uses Google and YouTube data only to provide user-facing app features:
- Connect a user's YouTube channel to the local RenderDock workspace.
- Show connected channel details inside the local app.
- Read channel and video metadata so users can review existing YouTube content and publishing state.
- Upload selected video clips to the user's own YouTube channel.
- Apply user-selected titles, descriptions, tags, categories, made-for-kids settings, visibility, and scheduling metadata.
- Refresh OAuth credentials when needed to keep a user-authorized connection working.
Storage and Security
RenderDock is designed to run locally on the user's computer. The installed app stores OAuth tokens,
connected account records, channel metadata, video metadata, and publish job records in the user's
local RenderDock workspace, normally under renderdock-data or the configured
RENDERDOCK_HOME directory.
The public website does not receive OAuth tokens and does not operate a cloud backend for YouTube data. Users are responsible for protecting access to their local computer and workspace files.
Sharing and Transfers
RenderDock does not sell Google user data, does not use Google user data for advertising, and does not transfer Google user data to data brokers, advertising platforms, or unrelated third parties. Data is shared with Google and YouTube APIs only as needed to perform actions requested by the user, such as connecting an account, reading channel metadata, uploading a video, or updating metadata.
If a user voluntarily submits a support request by email, the information included in that request may be reviewed for troubleshooting. Users should not include OAuth tokens, client secrets, passwords, private videos, or other sensitive data in support reports.
Human Access
RenderDock does not require project maintainers to read a user's Google or YouTube data. Maintainers may review information only if the user chooses to provide it for support, legal compliance, security investigation, or troubleshooting.
Retention and Deletion
Because RenderDock stores application data locally, users control the main copy of their OAuth tokens and YouTube data records. Users can disconnect accounts, revoke Google access, or delete the local RenderDock workspace. Instructions are available on the Data Deletion page.
If a user provides personal data through a support request and asks for deletion, the project will make reasonable efforts to delete or anonymize that support data within 30 days, unless retention is required for security, legal, or abuse-prevention reasons.
Children
RenderDock is intended for creators who are old enough to manage a YouTube channel and grant Google OAuth permissions. It is not directed to children under 13.
Google API Limited Use
RenderDock's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
